Born in 1974 in West Berlin to a German ballerina and an Armenian chemist, Aram Dikiciyan started his career as a photographer at the age of twenty-two. In 2004 he relocated to Tokyo, where he has been based ever since. His intense black-and-white portraits, landscapes and abstract works have been described as “… gritty and minimalistic, simple but not condensed, melancholic but not dispirited.”

1974年、西ベルリンでドイツ人バレリーナの母とアルメニア人化学者の父の間に生まれたアラム・ディキチヤンは、22歳で写真家としてのキャリアをスタートさせました。2004年に東京に拠点を移し、それ以来ずっと東京を拠点に活動しています。彼の力強い白黒写真のポートレート、風景、抽象作品は、「荒々しくもミニマリスティック、シンプルでありながら凝縮されておらず、憂いを帯びながらも沈んでいない」と評されています。
