Born in 1974 in West Berlin to a German ballerina and an Armenian chemist, Aram Dikiciyan started his career as a photographer at the age of twenty-two. In 2004 he relocated to Tokyo, where he has been based ever since. His intense black-and-white portraits, landscapes and abstract works have been described as “… gritty and minimalistic, simple but not condensed, melancholy but not dispirited.”
